About QES Classes

Our Instructors:

We want your class experience to be more than learning a new skill - we want you to experience a friendly environment and make lots of new friends while having tons of fun. We feel that instructors are key to making this environment possible.

Our instructors are hand-picked, often from our local community, to share their skills, lessons learned and to help you grow in your quilt journey.

Date & Time:

Each class has been carefully designed to start and end on time. We will be here at the shop 15 minutes before class time so that you have plenty of time to arrive, set up and get comfortable. If you have any concerns, please contact the shop.

What to bring:

We recommend packing the items listed above in your car the night before class. If you forget an item or don't have one, we recommend you purchase it prior to class (just in case someone buys the last one 5 minutes before your class starts). If you need any assistance, we are here to help you.

What to expect:

This quilt class will start on time. The classroom area will be open 15 minutes prior to class for you to choose your seat, set up and get comfortable.

All-day classes will break for lunch, which will be on your own. Our shop is next to a Wendy's and close to several local restaurants.

Be comfortable. You are welcome to bring layers and dress comfortably. We want you to relax, learn, and enjoy the process.

What to do ahead of time:

  • Know your machine: If you are new to your sewing machine, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with its operation so that class to be focused on learning. If you are a beginner and need assistance, please call the shop and schedule a time to bring your machine in at least a week before class so that we can go over it with you. Because each machine is different, we will be unable to offer technical assistance for any machine difficulties.
  • Pack your supplies: The items you need for class will be in your supplies list. We recommend packing them up in your car the night before class so that you don't have the last-minute frazzles.
  • Bring a good attitude: Many of us quilt to find that happy spot in our days. We know learning can be challenging or even stressful depending on what else is going on in your life. Our shop and our classes are here to encourage, enable and help you have fun quilting. We are so serious about it that we defunded the quilt police in our store. Bring your excitement and be sure to share it with your fellow classmates... they will do the same for you.
